Care & Maintenance Guide
Every bag is a part of your life. It accompanies you to work, on the road, on weekend trips, and carries your every moment. Proper care not only prolongs the life of your bag but also ensures its comfortable feel and refined appearance. Based on the material and shape of the bag, here are some practical tips to keep your bag looking like new every day.
Handbags
a. Nylon Handbags
Lightweight and durable nylon bags are easy to care for. Gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth daily. For stubborn stains, use a diluted, neutral detergent. Avoid direct sunlight or open flames to prevent deformation or melting. When not in use for extended periods, store in a dust bag and avoid heavy objects to preserve the bag's shape.
b. Leather Handbags
Leather bags may appear elegant, but they also require gentle care. Wipe with a clean, soft cloth daily, and treat stains with a dedicated leather cleaner. To maintain the leather's softness and luster, apply a conditioning oil or lotion regularly. In case of rain or humidity, first blot dry with a dry cloth, then air dry in a cool, ventilated area. When storing, fill with soft paper and place in a dust bag, away from direct sunlight and pressure.
c. Canvas Tote Bag
Canvas bags are casual and durable, but they also attract dust easily. They can be cleaned with a soft brush or damp cloth. Stubborn stains can be hand-washed, avoiding the use of bleach. After washing, air dry naturally; avoid drying in the dryer or direct sunlight to prevent fading or warping. Keeping them dry during long-term storage will prevent mold and mildew.
d. Polyester Tote Bag
Polyester is durable and water-resistant. Most stains can be removed with a gentle wipe of a damp cloth. While durable, avoid scratches from sharp objects. Store in a dry place and avoid heavy loads to maintain the bag's shape.
Straw Bag
Straw bags are a summer favorite, but the material is fragile. Avoid using water when cleaning; use a dry cloth or soft brush to remove dust. Straw is susceptible to moisture and mold, so it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from rain. Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of your bag to prevent deformation or breakage. When not in use for extended periods, store it in a breathable bag, rather than sealed in a plastic bag, to allow it to breathe.
Crossbody Bags
Crossbody bags require similar care as handbags, but be mindful of the following: avoid prolonged rubbing against clothing to prevent wear and tear on the surface. The shoulder strap is a crucial part of a crossbody bag, so regularly inspect the buckles and seams to prevent damage from excessive weight over time.
Backpacks
Backpacks are often used for travel or carrying heavy items, so the way you carry them and how you manage the bag are crucial.
Adjust the shoulder straps evenly when carrying to avoid damage caused by uneven weight.
Empty the bag regularly to prevent food or liquid residue from causing odors or stains.
Daily cleaning and care are the same as for handbags.
Additional Tips
Try to avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes, oils, and alcohol-based products, as these can damage or discolor the material. When not in use for an extended period, we recommend taking it out every one or two months to air it out in a cool, well-ventilated place.
When storing, avoid stacking or placing heavy objects on the bag. Fill it with paper or soft cloth to maintain its shape.
